There is something about 'contrast' that has always held a fascination for me. I am naturally drawn to all types of contrast whether it is colour, pattern, texture, people, well come to think of it, pretty much anything! The contrast of a white landscape with an unexpected pop of colour could be seen as quite 'jarring'. To me, this is an unexpected  addition to the scene but also somehow a harmonious one.
